Rekindling the blog fever

I was just so happy to know that my friends are doing blogs again. Yey! :)
And so I need to do the same.
For that I'm hoping to find more time and more topics to post in the future. *Crossfingers!

Hari ng Padala

I clearly remember when I was still a kid, how happy I am whenever my mother will tell me that my lola (grandmother) from US  sent us a balikbayan box. She usually send the "magic box" once a year and usually it's during Christmas season (December). My lola is so thoughtful that even having a big number of family members, she made sure that everyone have his/her own share from her itsy-bitsy box of packages. A block of Hershey's chocolates or even a single packet of M&M's would make our heart jump for joy. How I miss those blissful moments, it is one of our family 's bonding time during those days. And fast forward to today, now it's my turn to send them one. I am ready to fill that "magic box" so it can also give joy to my love ones back in the Philippines. :)

I need a BREAK

I am so hoping that my filed vacation leave will get approval without questions from my boss.
I want to have a time away from work, from stressful everyday 8-hours work schedule.

for next...(pag sinipag)

my next post will be about these things...

so many unfinished blog posts to publish. Bow.

Wingardium Leviosa!!!

In my mind I have chanted for several times, "Wingardium Leviosa" (wing-gar-dee-əm lev-ee-oh-sə ), the levitation charm in the Harry Potter series, and Hola they're here in Singapore! Hahaha! See? I 'm quite magical just like the normal wizards! Lol. And just so you know, besides from being a vampire, I wish to be a wizard too! Hahaha! Someday, I know, someday! Hahaha! :)

Since last June 2, Harry Potter Exhibition was brought here in Singapore, and the said gallery of costumes, props and almost all of what you have seen in the past 8 HP films were housed at the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands which will last until end September 2012.

There's only a limited number of person that can go in at a given time so better to book your tickets online. But for those (like us) who would want to avail discounts (for Singapore residents only), you need to queue personally for the tickets and show your IC. For ticket prices, go here.

I'm a fan of HP, and for all people know, I wouldn't miss this one. And with all the powers I have, I managed to ask 4 more people to come and accompany me with the exhibit.
 (I'm powerful, told 'ya!)

I so wish that I can share you all things that we've seen inside. It's the real show 'ya know? But unfortunately, all the artifacts and wizarding props that were on display can't be photographed.
Too bad, I know. I felt that too. :(

But nevertheless, I'm just so happy that I've seen them again. Not in real but well, sort of.

My wizarding frineds! RON. HARRY. HERMIONE.

And as souvenir, and to feel that somehow I visited Hogwarts, I bought...

and also this...

I was expecting they would be selling Butterbeers too! :)

Just last weekends, finally we moved out. Well as for my case, it’s my 3rd time to do so in my 1 year stay here in Sg. Hahaha! I feel like an NPA individual (no permanent address) But this time around,  we have signed a 2 year contract with our present address. Living here in Singapore is quite a feat as day comes by. Expensive units, expensive food, almost everything is expensive! Well, that’s what you expect from a 1st world country, right?

Housemates said we’ll be having our house warming party by 18th of this month. Yay! Party! J

Back to R.U.N.N.I.N.G.

We have collected yesterday our race pack at Taman Jurong Community Centre.
And whether we are ready or not for it, we'll run our hearts out again next week! Yay! :)

Let's learn how to paddle...

Went to Bedok Reservoir earlier to watch a Dragon Boat Race event.
And as the usual me, I want to learn how to to do it too! It may seem "easy" to do (the paddling) with spectator's vantage point but I'm guessing it's also as difficult just like other sports. Rigid training usually goes behind those powerful strokes.

Here's some helpful basic tips on how to do it "RIGHT"

3 STEPS of PADDLING

a. "A" position - Paddle's UP
b. The "CATCH" - Placing the paddle in the water
c. The "EXIT"

For us to better understand how this is done, let's watch the videos below... :)

And here's a sample of the thrilling action during the games!
Surely, you can never guess who's the winner until they reach the end line.

And now I'm thinking how to join in... Lol! :)

Marathon is much like L.I.F.E.

Ready.
Set.
Go!!!

Gun start.

Not that I have ran a marathon already, or even dared a half marathon; But really, marathon is like your life and mine.

I realized this when I was in the middle of my run last May, for the Sundown Marathon here in Singapore. Although it was just a 10k run, I have given my best effort that night. I clearly remember that I'm not even past 2km when suddenly I felt a pang of abdominal pain. It was on the lower left side of my tummy. I got scared. And I even told myself, why now dear Lord. I have started quite good, in my constant pace when that pain came. I don't want to stop running because I know it won't relieve also that fast. So what I did was just slowed my pace, in a brisk walk momentum, as the 11,000 more runners were sprinting past over me. I cannot do anymore but brisk walk. I guess, for quite more than 1km, I was like that. And little by little, the pain became tolerable. To add with the sacrifice, it was damn hot night, maybe not that hot, but because of so many people running, the humidity at Nicholl Highway area shoot up. I was sweaty all over, literally, my sweat is dripping down off my dri-fit running shorts. I could have chosen to stop, to let not finish my first ever night run, but I managed to continue and finish it.

Life is just like that. You were born here on earth. And through the years, difficulties will haunt you from day in and out. But it shouldn't make you surrender and give up on life. Learn to endure. All those pains, those hardships. Try to focus on your goal. With each step you take, with each run, in whatever pace you choose to have, sooner you'll realize that you have made it.

And before midnight, we finished our race. Got our finishers' medal. And we are happy.

Next week, I'll be running again,
Excited for The Jurong Lake Run. :)
